Lethal Triple-Digit Heat to Bake Millions Across West This Week

Global Weather: According to Fox Weather, National Weather Service meteorologists are warning of heat-related illnesses and heated nighttime temperatures that will not substantially lower the heat.

LAS VEGAS: Even though meteorological summer has just begun, millions of people in the west are already getting ready for potentially fatal heat-related illnesses because of a shift in the weather pattern that will cause triple-digit temperatures during the region’s first heat wave of the summer.

Building ridges of high pressure from the Pacific Ocean and Mexico are seen in computer forecast models, which will contribute to the impending workweek’s increased temperatures.

South of the border, a similar pattern has already resulted in record-breaking temperatures; numerous humans and animals have reportedly died in Mexico over the past month, as a result of this trend.

Although it will still be very hot in the western United States, the FOX Forecast Center indicated that it won’t be as bad as it has been lately in Mexico.

Phoenix and Las Vegas might reach over 111 degrees by midweek, and Death Valley, California, might see a high of 118 degrees on Thursday.
Sacramento, California, is expected to have highs above 100 degrees this week as well.

Tuesday is predicted to be the highest temperature, at 102 degrees, while Wednesday is predicted to reach 105 degrees.
These are values that will be 10–20 degrees above average for the Desert Southwest and most of inland California.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat alert for millions of people in three states, including the Las Vegas metro region, due to the potentially deadly heat that is predicted to intensify.

June 6 is the earliest date on which Sin City has recorded temperatures of 110 degrees, thus the Heatwave may potentially tie or even surpass the record.

The heat wave is expected to peak on Wednesday and Thursday, but it may continue into Friday and the next weekend, according to computer forecast models.
