PM Narendra Modi in Mumbai: Foundation Stone Laid for Twin Tunnel Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Mumbai today, July 13, at 5:30 p.m. to lay the foundation stone for the much-anticipated twin tunnel project. This significant infrastructure development aims to enhance connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion in the city.

The twin tunnel, spanning 4.7 kilometers, will connect the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to the Worli Sea Face, reducing travel time between the two areas to just 10 minutes. The project, estimated to cost ₹29,000 crores, at a function in NESCO Exhibition centre in Gurgaon. The PM is to dedicate to the nation, two new platforms of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Terminus.

PM Modi’s visit to Mumbai is a testament to the city’s growing importance as a hub for infrastructure development and economic growth. The twin tunnel project is a key component of the city’s urban development plan, aimed at improving the quality of life for Mumbaikars.

During his visit, PM Modi is also expected to review various other infrastructure projects in the city, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.

The foundation stone laying ceremony will be attended by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and other prominent leaders, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the central and state governments in driving infrastructure development in Maharashtra.
