Nepal: Landslides in Trishuli River swept away 2 buses carrying 63 people

In Nepal, a terrible landslide has resulted in a tragic incident. On Friday, two buses carrying about sixty-three people were swept away into Nepal’s Trishuli River by a major landslide. Officials say that while a search is in progress to locate the missing people, the area’s continuous rain is making the rescue effort more difficult.

Since last week, Nepal has seen a lot of rainfall. The heavy, continuous rains were the cause of the landslide that rapidly occurred at 3:30 am on the Madan-Ashrit Highway in central Nepal.

Meanwhile, Indradev Yadav, the Chief District Officer of Chitwan district, said, “We are at the scene and are conducting a search operation. However, the continuous rain is making it difficult to find the missing buses.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the prime minister of Nepal, expressed his sorrow in response to the tragic event by saying, “I am deeply saddened by the reports of about five dozen passengers that are missing when bus washed away by a landslide on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section and the loss of properties due to floods and landslides in different parts of the country.” I command the home administration and all other government authorities to look for the passengers and successfully rescue them.
The rescue workers are determined on finding the missing passengers in spite of these difficulties.

Meanwhile, severe weather has forced the cancellation of flights from Kathmandu to Bharatpur in the Chitwan area.
This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the power of nature and the necessity of being ready for emergencies.
