Hardik Pandya leads IND to a commanding victory against Bangladesh in 1st T20 at Gwalior

In the opening Twenty20 International (T20I) encounter of the three-match series, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian cricket team defeated the Nazmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh cricket team on October 6 at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior by a score of seven wickets. India, needing to chase down 128 runs, won the match in 11.5 overs thanks to their potent batting attack, scoring 132/3. Some significant contributions were made by Sanju Samson (29), Suryakumar Yadav (29), Abhishek Sharma (16), Nitish Kumar Reddy* (16), and Hardik Pandya* (39).

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman each claimed one wicket for Bangladesh. Arshdeep Singh, an Indian bowler, was named “Player of the Match” as he took three wickets at an economy of 3.65 and conceded just 14 runs. The second Twenty20 International match between Bangladesh and India is scheduled to take place on October 9 at Arun Jaitley International Stadium in Delhi, starting at 7 PM. India chose to play against Bangladesh at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior after winning the toss, with a target of 128 runs to be chased.

Bangladesh’s batsmen battled to lose five wickets in ten overs while batting first, finishing at 64/5. However, in 19.5 overs, they were all bowled out for 127. Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy, who returned to the Indian team after a three-year absence, each claimed three wickets for the team, while Mayank Yadav and Washington Sundar claimed one wicket each. On his T20I debut for India, Mayank Yadav bowled the sixth over and produced a maiden over. With this over, he became the third bowler from India to record a maiden in a Twenty20 international.

Mahmudullah of Bangladesh was the batter in Mayank’s first international wicket, which he got in his second over, India’s ninth over. Sundar of Washington caught him off guard. Mayank’s fastest delivery during his debuting match was 149.9 kmph. Ajit Agarkar and Arshdeep Singh were the only two players to deliver a maiden in their first-ever match for India prior to Mayank Yadav.
