Chennai Super Kings Beats Rajasthan by 5 Wickets, Remains Alive in Playoffs Race.

Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad (42) stood tall on the occasion when it was required for his team. Though as a bystander, he stood at one end while the wickets kept falling at the other end. Finally, he got his team home and secured two crucial points to keep the playoffs hope alive for CSK. There were contributions from Rachin Ravindra and Shivam Dube but Gaikwad played the anchor knock in this victory for CSK.

Denting the Rajasthan Royals top-order in the afternoon game on Sunday, fast bowler Simarjeet picked up three wickets and leaked 26 runs in his four overs. Speedster Tushar Deshpande bagged a brace of wickets and conceded 30 runs as the CSK bowlers turned the tie into a low-scoring encounter at Chepauk. Leading the Royals fightback, on-song Riyan Parag remained unbeaten on 47 (35) to help Samson’s RR post 141-5 in 20 overs.

In reply, opener Rachin Ravindra scored 27 off 18 balls while skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad remained unbeaten on 42 off 41 balls as Chennai Super Kings completed the run chase in 18.2 overs.
