IMD predicts rain till July 15th across India, including heavy rain in Sikkim, West Bengal, and Bihar

The monsoon rains have brought relief to Delhi by cooling temperatures with continuous showers. However, heavy rains in Bihar are posing a threat of flooding, while Uttar Pradesh is experiencing increased humidity and rain alerts. According to IMD forecasts, rain is expected across states until July 15, with yellow alerts issued for Himachal Pradesh and Mumbai.

The monsoon arrived late last month, however Delhi had dry periods until the past two days when it has been continuously raining, providing much-needed respite from the heat. With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting an overcast sky and light showers on July 11, the rains have lifted Delhiites’ spirits. It is predicted that the temperature will range from 28 to 36°C. Moreover, July 12 is expected to have more substantial rainfall, which should result in colder temperatures and more showers.

Meanwhile, Mumbai is under a yellow alert, as per the Indian Meteorological Department.

Uttar Pradesh’s climate has drastically changed, with recent intense rains raising the state’s humidity levels in many of the state’s cities. For the next five days, the Meteorological Department predicts that rain will continue to fall in the state’s eastern and western regions. Notably, rain is predicted for Lucknow tomorrow. Heavy rains in some districts of Bihar have increased the risk of floods, underscoring the negative effects of the monsoon in these areas.

Up until July 15, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in a number of states. States like Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha are projected to receive a lot of rain. In the meantime, Uttarakhand, Central India, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan are predicted to have light showers.
