The East-West Metro will run on Sundays (05/2/23 & 11/2/23) to tackle the book fair rush, the Metro Railway announced on Friday. The carrier usually remains suspended on Sundays. This comes as a relief for book fair bound visitors who will now be able to travel hassle free from Sealdah to the book fair ground at Central Park.
Metro Railway, the umbrella organisation of city’s rapid transit will run 120 services during weekdays and 80 services on the two Sundays along the Green line. On weekdays the first train will depart Sealdah at 6:50AM and from Sector V at 7AM. The last Train from Sealdah station will leave at 9:35pm and from Sec V at 9:40pm.
On the two Sundays the first and last Metro will leave Sector V at 1PM and 9:40PM from Sealdah at 12:50PM and 9:35PM. The 46th International Book Fair will begin at Central Park Ground in Salt Lake from 31st January till 12th February. The timings are from 12pm to 8pm for visitors.
