According to sources on Saturday Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday will decide the party candidate for Amity and Raibareli lok sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
Sources also added ” All CEC (Central Election Committee) leaders asked Kharge and Sonia Gandhi to field Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from the two seats.”
As known, the Congress has not yet announced high profile candidates for Amethi Raebareli Lok Sabha seats.
First and second phase of 2024 elections has been completed, the third phase of vote polling is to take place on 7th May 2024. As known, the election will take place by 7 phase and the results are to be announced on 4th June 2024.
Before 2019 Amethi was a strong hold for the Congress but in the 2019 elections, Congress Rahul Gandhi was defeated by BJP leader Smriti Irani. Smriti Irani has again been selected by the BJP for the seat.
