Man Shot Dead at GTB Hospital, Dilshad Garden

In a startling incident at the Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, a man was shot dead, sparking a significant police response and raising concerns about hospital security. The victim, whose identity has not been publicly released, was gunned down on hospital grounds, leading to a chaotic scene that has left the local community in shock.

The shooting took place in the hospital premises, which is known for its high foot traffic and vital services. According to initial reports, the assailants managed to infiltrate the hospital’s security protocols, moved into the ward as normal patients and shot a 32 year old man dead, suggesting a potential lapse or oversight in security measures.

Following the incident, police have apprehended three suspects, including an 18 year old. According to the police, the shooting took place as a case of mistaken identity.

The deceased is identified as Riyazuddin, a resident of Khajuri Khas, was admitted as a patient into the hospital, and died, after receiving three in his abdomen.

The involvement of a teenager in such a serious crime has added another layer of complexity to the case. Law enforcement officials are working to determine the teenager’s role and how they became involved in the incident. It is also expected that this development will prompt discussions about the involvement of young individuals in violent crimes and the societal factors contributing to such behaviors.

Hospital officials have expressed their condolences to the victim’s family and are cooperating with the police investigation. They are also reviewing their security protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.

This incident underscores the critical need for robust security measures in public institutions and raises important questions about the effectiveness of current protocols in safeguarding against such violent acts.
