Parliament’s budget session will begin on January 31, 2022


The ministry of parliamentary affairs on 14 January said that the 256th session of the budget session will start on 31 January.

The first half will run from January 31 to February 11. The second half will run from March 14 to April 8. “There will be no session on March 18 because of Holi,” the order read.

On February 1st, the budget will be presented at the Lok Sabha before being presented at the Rajya Sabha.

“I am further instructed to inform you that the President will be pleased to address both Houses of Parliament meeting at 11:00 am on Monday, January 31, 2022 and inform Parliament of the reasons for his convening pursuant to Article 87 ( I) of the Constitution”, he said.

This comes after Lok Sabha President Om Birla inspected the Parliament Complex (PHC) on January 11 to take stock of measures related to health security and other preparations in light of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases. in the country.

The President said the necessary arrangements were being made for the budget session of Parliament.

Birla had instructed officials to take special care of parliamentarians over sixty and to proactively meet their demands.

The speaker told reporters that he held discussions on COVID-19 measures with Rajya Sabha President Venkaiah Naidu.

He also visited the COVID-19 testing facility installed in the Parliament annex for parliamentarians, officials and staff of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariats and reviewed the preparations there.

“We have made arrangements for testing and vaccination in the Parliament complex. It is true that a large number of Parliament staff have tested positive for COVID. All staff are doing well. They are being monitored and cared for by doctors,” he said. he had said.

The speaker said necessary preparations are being made so that the COVID guidelines can be adhered to.
