A major terror attack on an Army picket in the remote village of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday, July 22, 2024 . The attack occurred early in the morning at around 4 a.m. when suspected terrorists fired at a security post in the Gundha area of Rajouri .
Security personnel retaliated to the terrorist’s fire, and a gun battle ensued. The area has been cordoned off, and a search operation is currently underway . The Indian Army, along with the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit of the Romeo Force, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), is conducting the search operation.
It is suspected that three to four terrorists are involved in the attack, but more information is awaited.
This attack comes after a series of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army has increased the deployment of troops in the Jammu region to bolster security and counter any further threats.
