Very Heavy Rainfall with Isolated extremely Heavy Rains Likely over North-East India over next few days

The IMD predicts that within the next five days, a significant rainfall event will likely be to affect numerous areas of central India, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

According to the India Meteorological Department’s most recent forecast, which was released on Tuesday, heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rains is predicted over the Northeast and neighbouring east India during the next two to three days, with a drop in intensity after that.

Over the next five days, Konkan, Goa, central Maharashtra, and coastal Karnataka are expected to get heavy to very heavy rainfall, with the potential for exceptionally severe amounts over Goa on Tuesday, according to the report.

In the coming five days, there is a high probability of isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Rayalaseema, as well as scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana. Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected to accompany the light to moderate rainfall, which is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms over Konkan, Goa, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Karnataka, Goa, Konkan, and Goa.

According to the IMD, there is a very good chance of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Konkan, Goa, central Maharashtra, and coastal Karnataka from July 9 to July 13. According to the prediction, there is a high probability of isolated, extremely heavy rainfall over Gujarat and coastal Karnataka on July 9 and Goa on Tuesday.

Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and northeast India, and scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha in the next five days, said the IMD.
