Shivam Dube remained unbeaten with a sensational innings of 66 runs from 38 balls. He hit 10 fours and 2 sixes. Mahendra Singh Dhoni stormed with the bat in the last over. He remained not out by playing an aggressive innings of 20 runs off just 4 balls with 3 sixes.

Batting in reply, Mumbai Indians started the fightback at eleven properly. They scored 70 runs in the opening pair. In the end, Ishan Kishan returned to Pavilion after scoring 23 runs off 15 balls. He hit 3 fours and 1 six. Another opener Rohit Sharma completed his personal half-century in 30 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. He completed his personal century off 61 balls with the help of 10 fours and 5 sixes. In the end, the hitman remained unbeaten with 105 runs off 63 balls with the help of 11 fours and 5 sixes.

However, Mumbai finally got stuck at 186 for 6 in 20 overs. Chennai Super Kings won the match by a short margin of 20 runs.
